The Phase V Rule set drinking water standards for 23 contaminants that may be found in drinking water. The regulation sets Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) and Maximum Contaminant Level Goals (MCLGs), and establishes requirements for monitoring, reporting, public notification and Best Available Technologies (BATs) for water treatment.
